1. Out of Site and Out of Mind

You might think you do a good job with house cleaning but there might be places you have neglected. Places that our essentially out of sight, out of mind. Below is a list of top 5 items no one thinks to clean. Are you guilty of any of these?  Read below to see the top 5 places that you are probably forgetting to clean.

2. The Top and Bottom of the Fridge

This is an easy one but one that gets over looked way too often! Chances are you aren’t tall enough to see the top of your fridge. Or maybe you put things on top of it to keep out of your way. It can be a great place to store things, but it also accumulates a lot of dust and grease! Since you don’t see it very often, you probably don’t notice that layer of yuck forming up there.

The good news is you can get it clean in a short amount of time. Simply get a step stool, remove any items that are up there, wipe the bulk of the dust off with a dry cloth, then use some disinfectant to clean off the rest. See? Easy!

3. Under the Stove

You probably clean the stove top every day. But do you ever clean UNDER the stove? That’s an area that can get really dirty but one you don’t see very often. Think about it, all of that food from cooking drips down the side of the stove and underneath it. You don’t see it, but it’s there.

Hopefully your stove has a drawer on the bottom that can be removed for easier cleaning. Once you get the drawer out, sweep up or vacuum the bigger crumbs out from under the stove. Then use some disinfectant to scrub the stove itself. It might take a bit of elbow grease to remove any of the burn on food so using scrubbing pads can be useful.

4. Door Ledges

Similar to the top of your fridge, you don’t really see the top of your door ledges do you? They are probably caked with dust right now. In order to get them clean, get on a step stool and use a dusting cloth to remove the dust. If needed, use a wet cloth to get any of the stubborn dust cleaned off.

5. Toilets

Of course, you wipe down your toilet almost daily. But is it really clean? Get closer, look at that gunk around the rim. A good wipe down of the toilet seat is good but sometimes you need to scrub around the rim and the floor around the toilet. Use some bathroom cleaner specifically for toilets and get a heavy-duty toilet brush that can effectively scrub those stains away from the rim of the toilet.

6. Ceiling Fans

These get dusty very fast and if you don’t clean them, they will fling dust all over your house. The best way to dust them is to have an extended duster that can reach. If you don’t have one, use a step stool and a cloth to wipe them down. Be sure to turn them off first!     There are many areas of your home that you don’t see but do need to be clean. Be sure to add these to your house cleaning routine to ensure your house remains clean and fresh.
